Article summary

Use sentence-style with no end punctuation to label a piece of art. Titles should be concise. When numbered titles are used for art, the pieces are referred to as “figures”—for example, Figure 7.1 Regional geology. End the caption with a full stop only if it is a complete sentence or a mixture of fragments and sentences—for example, Figure 3. Site plan showing historical excavations.
