A call-out points to a specific item that the reader should notice in an illustration. Observe the following rules when writing call-outs:
Capitalize each call-out sentence-style, except multi-part call-outs with ellipses.
For multi-part call-outs with ellipses, use lower case for the first word in the second part of the call-out. Leave one space before or after the ellipses.
End the call-out with a full stop only if the call-out is a complete sentence.
Avoid mixing fragments and complete sentences as call-outs for the same piece of art. If you must, use end punctuation appropriate to each call-out.
